Not too long ago, I posted a preview of Marcia’s birthday family session. I’ve now gone through and edited all of their images, and I wanted to share some of my favorites of just the kids. I’ll add more family shots soon, but these three – Cadence, her brother JT, and their cousin Brian – were so super cute they needed their own post.

Cadence, the budding model:

Brian, also not so bad at modeling. I’ve photographed this guy a bunch, and this was the first time I think he really got what was happening. He totally posed for this, leaning to the side and putting his hands in his pockets…

“Silly faces now.” Done. (Well, except for Brian, but the poor boy had really bad allergies.)

And the trio being adorable together:

This was a family session meant to be focused more on the larger group and individual families, but when the three little ones got in front of the camera, I couldn’t help it. They were naturals and so much fun. I’d say that I hope I can photograph them again one day, but I know that I will! Brian is a regular. 🙂

I recently posted a preview of siblings Sophia, Ava, and Thomas’ session. I’ve finally gone through all of their photos and have a bit more to share.

Sophia (5) and Ava (2) have an adorable playroom with the best in girly activities. After some posed portraits, they played a bit while I snapped some shots, and they immediately went into tea-party zone. Then they baked cookies. They are very good at both. And amazingly cute all the while.

Thomas’ recent birth (he was 3 months in February) was the impetus for the shoot, so here’s a sampling of Tommy-focused photos: (The ones of Cassie kissing him and the girls tickling him might be my favorites.)

And a couple of the little guy on his own:

This expression is heart-melting:

And one last photo of the group:

I absolutely loved meeting this family – Hope to see them again on a future trip to Cleveland!

This was my biggest family shoot yet. I’ve photographed little Brian many times before, starting from when he was 6 weeks old (!!), but I haven’t gotten the opportunity to capture him with his parents, let alone the whole family! (Will post some prior photos of Brian one day, hopefully not too far from now.)

This session was particularly special because it was a birthday gift for the kids’ grandmother, Marcia. She and her husband Richard, along with their sons, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren, got together for a family portrait session of 9 people – a tricky feat without a studio or access to the outdoors (it was snowing)… but we definitely made it happen. I lucked out with this bunch.

This family is so easy-going and was a lot of fun. I hope Marcia loved the birthday session – and the photos that come from it! Here are just a few.

Marcia and Richard with the three very loved little ones, Cadence, Brian, and JT:

I am in love with this next photo, not because of my skills but because of the fact that Marcia and Richard are giving their grown boys (very grown – these guys are giants) bunny ears:

The whole nine:

One last preview photo, this one of the lovely couple on their own:

What a special way to honor a birthday, and I had so much fun photographing them and being part of their celebration.

Almost all of my sessions in Cleveland were of one baby – and sometimes the parents. While I love focusing on one child, with his/her individual personality and intimate relationship with mom and dad, it’s also really fun to photograph siblings/cousins. They are of course so comfortable around each other and are often pretty funny – and sweet.

This session was of three siblings – Sophia (5), Ava (2), and Thomas (3 months). The kids are adorable, and the whole shoot was so much fun – cooperative, super cute kids, a fun, easy-going mom, a beautiful house… what more could I ask for?

There are lots of photos from this shoot that I’m still going through, but here’s a three-image preview.

Seriously, look at these little ones… I am obsessed with the girls’ haircuts. And I want to fold up the couch and take it with me to future photo sessions:

Cassie and her baby boy, Tommy, who has ridiculously long and dark eyelashes:

And the adorable family (minus Dad – hopefully we’ll get him next time!):

More to come – some of just the girls, a few family shots, and portraits of the little munchkin.

Here’s another photo of Remy, looking adorable as usual – and so proud of his colorful plastic ball collection (and his whale shirt).

Yesterday, I posted about chocolate zucchini cupcakes. I needed a mini taster, so I looked no further than my living room, where our neighbor Danni was hanging out with my husband. Danni has nut allergies, so I made sure all items in the recipe were nut-free and gave him a cupcake to try. He couldn’t finish one (they are big and, like I said, dense), but he really liked it! And there was no look of “What the heck is in this?” on his face when he took his first bite.

Here he is:

Have a great day! Maybe make some cupcakes. 🙂

Yesterday I went to the just-launched farmers market at the New Medicine Community in Bradenton (info here), and while it was pretty small with not more than 10 vendors, the vibe was great, and I met some really nice people. The idea behind it is to bring customers together not only with the farmers who grow their foods but with local chefs and restaurants who use ingredients that are grown locally and/or with organic practices. Chef Cheryl does cooking demonstrations and offers free samples, Vertori’s Pizza‘s owner Christine Harman is there with baked-on-site, entirely gluten-free goodies like the absolutely delicious pizza, stuffed shells, ravioli, and homemade packaged products (bread, treats, etc.), and NMC offers free hot coffee and tea, which was very needed during yesterday’s chilly afternoon. Dawn of Sensible Soaps is also a vendor, selling many handcrafted soap products. I sampled the citrus from King Farm Myakka, doled out by the Kings’ very friendly – and knowledgeable – retired-doctor father. I took his advice and purchased some of his favorite citrus, the Orlando tangelo, a juicy, sweet, unique citrus that will only be around for a few more weeks. Other regular vendors include Bob’s Veggie Patch, Greens on the Gro, Therapeutic Massage by Don, and Hack Urban Garden; check the New Medicine community Produce This Week list before you go to see what’s currently available.

Here are some shots I took of the spread:

And then some photos of this little one who quickly became a friend. The 20-month-old was absolutely adorable and loved her time at the market, collecting soap, running around, and munching on the broccoli-garlic pizza sample from Vertori’s. Sadly, I didn’t capture her white-blond hair due to the cold temperatures, but her eyes are ridiculously gorgeous, too:
