It’s been a newborn kind of month! I love it. 🙂
I met 4-day-old Max (as well as his awesome 6-year-old brother Jake and amazing family), and he was such a sweet, easy little boy. I love that people welcome me into their homes during such a special time and let me share a little bit in their new baby’s adorableness.
Check out this peanut package:
Jake looking out the window for his baby-brother-delivery:
Max gets some love from his dad and brother:
A loving snuggle from his mama:
And lastly, my favorite photo from the session… I love it for many reasons…
It happened sort of by accident (Kim wanted Jake to feed Max to help him relax a bit for this pose, so we took one shot of this, which I didn’t touch in post-processing). It speaks for sure of brotherliness to me (even without the “little brother” outfit Max is wearing, but made more so because of it). It shows how they look alike. It’s so summery. Jake is feeding Max but focused elsewhere (like he’s saying “I’ll take care of you, little guy, but I have other things to do, too.”). And Max is so super teeny next to big-brother Jake… That’s why I love it. Just me?
Ron and Sonia’s 50th Anniversary – Sarasota Photographer

I had the honor of meeting and photographing Ron and Sonia, along with their family, for their 50th anniversary celebration (thanks for the introduction, Cheryl!). After just over a year of marriage myself, I was inspired and so touched to see the way they look at each other (and kiss!) 50 years later. Their family members flew from as far as Estonia to celebrate this momentous occasion with them, and I was proud to be capturing this event.
Here they are all together:
And again, down by the water:
And now for the happy couple… There was a wedding taking place on the beach just as we were taking these photos, with Pachelbel’s Canon playing… It was quite emotional.
Thank you, Ron and Sonia, for allowing me to share in this.

Last week, I posted some photos of the beautiful Abigail (my sister-in-law) and Danielle. As promised, here are some photos of just Danielle (these are for you, Debbie!)…
Look at those eyes (and they match her hair!):
And a few others:
I absolutely loved photographing Danielle and Abby. I’m flashing forward to 2014 when they’re graduating high school, doing this again… Wild.

Congratulations on being published in JAMA, Dr. Jonah J. Stulberg!
…and on being kind of a big deal…
Check him out! Wall Street Journal, Business Week, and more (just Google him!)
Nicely done, brother, nicely done.
Mykal, age 5 – Preview – Boston Photographer

I can’t believe Mykal is about to turn 5… (Check him out here at age 3.) I still feel like he’s a baby, but he’s also as smart and tall as a 10-year-old…
Mykal is J’s cousin Tina’s little guy, and she and her husband Myke are raising quite the adventurer. We ran around the Arnold Arboretum in Boston (Mykal’s shoes being thrown off after about five minutes), and he pointed out all of the different birds, plants, bugs… I should’ve been taking notes.
Here’s the handsome little man with his most amazing eyes:
Following in his dad’s footsteps… (Happy belated Father’s Day, Myke!)
Then there was some jumping, tree-hugging, climbing, laughing, silly-face-making…
And then it was time to go home…
Happy almost fifth birthday, little guy!

Danny is the son of our very good and longtime friends Mary and Tim. He is, unsurprisingly, absolutely scrumptious, and I’m so glad I finally got to photograph him.
Check out this handsome little man (notice the baseball…):
And hard not to notice the basketball here. Danny is prepped for a life of Boston sports fandom. (Good thing he doesn’t have a clue what just went on…)
🙂 The adorable family… (Nice Rozzy representation, Timmy!)

Happy, happy Father’s Day to the many incredible dads celebrating their first – or 20th (and beyond) – Father’s Day.
And to my Papa – Happy Father’s Day, and thank you for everything you have done – and continue to do – for me. You are the best.

This shoot was so much fun. Danielle’s mom asked me to photograph her for her 8th grade graduation, but she was totally okay with Abigail, Danielle’s best friend – who happens to also be my gorgeous sister-in-law, coming along. Photographing friends together is great – who wouldn’t be more comfortable in front of the camera with their best friend around?
And I love these two girls. They’re sweet, beautiful, hilarious, and fun. We had perfect weather and a great time. They make me feel old and 14 again at the same time.
Since this session was intended for Danielle, she’ll get another post with just her photos, but here are several of the two together. Get ready for lots of photos…
Beauties:
These two don’t stop giggling. I love it. Reminds me of sitting around with my best friend growing up, laughing just because of a look the other one gave or a word she said.
Love this setting (thanks, Lou!):
Beautiful BFFs in their graduation dresses:
So cute (and both of them with their mile-long legs – jeez!):
A big squeeze…
…and a lot of laughing:
One last shot…
I hope they can look back in 20 years and remember how much fun they’ve always had together. I get the feeling these two will be close forever.
