E and Remy have developed an adorable little friendship over E’s last several visits to FL. E now even has a name for Remy (“Hem”) and talks about him a lot – and by talks about him, I mean he reminisces with sounds, signs, and pointing. He’s not quite on full sentences yet. And Remy is preparing to be a big brother, being so sweet to E, calling him “Baby Efan,” holding his hand as they go places, and protecting him from other kids who try to steal his Thomas toy. They’re crazy cute on their own, and put them together… adorableness ensues.

Here they are, two of my favorite subjects:

E & Rem

And no visit with E can be complete without at least a mini photo shoot, so here are some shots of this very handsome and quickly growing-up 20-month-old, showing off his amazing Cleveland-white legs in his FL shorty shorts:

Those two boys make me very happy. Lots of cuteness. 🙂

A slightly belated 18-month post for E’s cousin Nathan, so happy 19.5 months, little guy!

These are my two favorite shots of this incredibly adorable boy’s session. He’s so photogenic – that hair, those eyes, his sweet expressions… I think he’s getting even cuter! And the outfit complements his coloring so well (nice work, Ben!). I love photographing this kid!

It’s official. E’s a kid. I used to think 18-month-olds were still babies, but considering E says “baby” (well, signs it – he’s working on the words thing) when he sees a little one, I’m not sure anymore… (I recommend skipping to the photos if you aren’t obsessed with E.)

He makes up his own games (rolling a ball under furniture, saying “Uh oh!”, and attempting to retrieve it with a stick – good times), feeds himself with utensils (until the food-to-mouth speed becomes too frustrating and he reverts back to hands), loves slapstick comedy (if you want to see the kid laugh, bonk your head on a cabinet, accidentally – he knows the difference, or pretend to feed yogurt to a plant), and has a memory that I can’t believe… During one snowfall, I quickly pointed out the snowflakes on his sleeves – I am obsessed with those beautifully formed snowflakes that look fake they’re so perfect – and over a week later, when we watched snow coming down from inside, he pointed to sleeve and looked at me, wondering why those snowflakes weren’t on his arm again (I didn’t say he’s a genius that grasps the concept that the snow wouldn’t fall inside).

Here are some shots I took of him last week with his BFFs (I found someone who can appreciate my monkey collection – and make it less weird that I still have it!). He was acting like a monkey here – if only I had accompanying audio… His monkey sound is at a decibel that’s hard to reach…

This boy is so expressive. I can’t even stand his face in the first photo in the second row. He’s always loved to have a bit of a spaz-fest:

And a shot of this precious kissable face:

E 18 months

These past 18 months have been the best – Thanks, Ezel, for being so much fun! Excited for millions more snuggles, laughs, and kisses (although now he’s starting to have opinions about when we’re allowed to kiss him – not sure how I feel about that).

Headed to Cleveland to kiss this man today:

Going to try to stay warm (or at least not lose a finger), photograph a bar mitzvah and some other fun shoots, and play with E… will be back in the warmth soon!

For the 10 days since we’ve been home from Boston, we’ve had visitors, creating sort of an extended holiday celebration – always a great excuse to take some time off to have fun and enjoy each other and Sarasota.

First, Dana and E were here, and even though E was a bit under the weather, we had so much fun. I didn’t realize 17 months (TODAY – Happy 17 Months, E!!) was such a cute age! He understands so much, makes us laugh all day, and is a really sweet little man.

Here he is at a playground, with his eyes looking nothing short of ridiculous:

Before Dana and E left, J’s sister Lauren and her boyfriend came to visit. We took E to the beach on a very breezy, chilly day, and E actually liked it better than when it was warm and sunny!

(All of the following photos were taken with my PEN camera.)

And one of my favorites – E with his mama. I want to kiss that face.

After Dana and E headed back to snowy Cleveland, the weather warmed back up a bit and we spent some more time at the beach, taking some romantic shots of Lauren and Kent:

What a nice way to come home… Now it’s back to reality, although that’s not so bad when it’s 70 degrees in January! Thanks for the great visits, guys!

My sister thought it would be fun to bake some treats and bring E to a firehouse when they were here last week since the boy is so into trucks of all kinds. His favorite noise to make is “vroom!” (it sounds something like that), and he gets super excited anytime he sees a fire truck, airplane, train, construction vehicle, and so on. Our friend Kevyn is a North Port firefighter, so we baked a bunch of brownies and cupcakes and headed down to Station 82 – which is a ridiculously awesome, well-equipped, fancy-lookin’ firehouse.

Although E was borderline terrified of Kev’s helmet (which, I have to say, was super heavy and smelled like burnt rubber, so I get it), he loved running around the station and climbing on the truck (and maybe also stealing a cupcake…).

In his glory (he’s making his truck sound in the middle shot):

Thanks for showing us around, Kev!
