So many Cleveland baby boys are turning one this summer! I already posted about E and Nathan‘s first birthdays, now it’s Madden’s turn, and some of their friends are coming up.

I photographed his parents Niki and Todd when they were still awaiting his arrival…. Now, one year later (almost to the day), I photographed him on the day of his birthday party.

This little dude is so super smiley and cute – I knew he’d be a really fun model. Here he is looking very cool and handsome for his party:

And another shot of his amazing smile:

And lastly, the birthday boy/king of the monkeys!

Happy, happy first birthday to the Mad Man (and Todd and Niki!)!

I have been waiting to meet this tiny one, born a little over a week ago, since May when I photographed his big brother Graham and parents Tammy and Todd. He was my first session of this Cleveland trip and is oh-so-adorable. Six-day-old Avery John was such a wonderful newborn model on a very muggy, hot, Florida-like day – I couldn’t have asked for more out of him (or the family!). He slept contentedly the whole time, only stirring slightly when we’d move him from one place or set of arms or outfit to the next.

Here are some preview photos of Avery’s shoot…

A mommy-baby snuggle – a moment I love to photograph so much… There’s just nothing like it:

And one last photo of little Avery looking so perfect:

Thanks, Tammy and Todd (and Graham!), for inviting me to capture this time for you. Congratulations on your beautiful new addition!

I can’t believe today is here… Our little nephew, Ethan Zev, is a year old. A YEAR OLD?! Wasn’t it just a minute ago he was a tiny 6-lb., 6-oz. peanut swaddled up being passed around from one set of arms to the next? But I also can’t believe it’s only been a year that he’s been in our lives…

I knew even before E was born that I would feel a lot of love for this little guy, but I couldn’t imagine just how much – and that it could grow as he does! I absolutely cannot wait to give one-year-old E a big fat smooch later today.

And, of course, some photos…

Here’s a shot from when Ezel was just a couple of hours old (and had already stolen our hearts, sneaky boy)…

One week old (and holy moly, so handsome)…

About 6 months, looking super scrumptious and happy and very grown up with his brand new teeth:

And 11 months, practicing one of his favorite activities – clapping!

Birthday photo to come this week. Must get to Cleveland first.

Happy, happy first birthday, Ethan Zev. Here we come!

I photographed the little munchkin Anabella when she was just 2.5 weeks old. Last week, I got to capture the whole family – now-8-month-old Anabella, her 3-year-old brother Dylan, and parents Andrea and Monica.

They did a great job even through the oppressive heat (I really can’t wait for fall…). Don’t they look great?!

Dylan, Andrea, Monica, and Anabella

I love that Dylan is helping Anabella here. He was making sure she didn’t put the shells in her mouth… so sweet!

And here is the crew again catching a little breeze on the dock (love Monica’s photo idea!):

I can’t believe it was one year ago today that E’s cousin Nathan was born – Happy, happy birthday to Nathan, and happy birth-day to his parents, Ben and Jill.

Here they are when Nathan was 2 weeks old:

Ben, Nathan, and Jill

And here is Nathan at 3 weeks, 6 months, and 10 months (haven’t seen him since then but will definitely get an updated photo next week!):

And a couple more shots from when he was 10 months… How scrumptious is this face?!

And playing around with his silly uncle (don’t worry – he enjoyed this):

Ben and Jill, thanks for bringing this awesome little man into the world! Can’t wait to give him a belated birthday squeeze in exactly one week. 🙂

After yesterday’s marathon of a post, I’m keeping it short and simple today. Although the bride and groom (now Mr. and Mrs.) are off riding elephants and enjoying their honeymoon, I thought I’d share another photo from Molly and Lou’s wedding weekend.

Here’s a shot of the Dartmouth ’01 crew (missing just a few) before everyone headed home.

Ellie P. Campbell Photography 2009-2010It’s my one-year anniversary as Ellie P. Campbell Photography. 🙂

(Well, yesterday was, but I didn’t have time to post about it.) Although I did photography well before August 2009, this is celebrating one official year on my own. As with most things all-consuming yet wonderful, it feels like this past year has flown by but also as if I’ve been doing this for years and years. I absolutely love what I do and am very happy to be where I am.

Here’s a very long photo-year-in-review…

A shot from my first official shoot on August 1, 2009 of beautiful Eva and her gorgeous little guy Julian:

Julian and Eva

Followed by E’s birth just a couple of weeks later (and thus began my camera’s love affair with my very edible nephew):

Newborn E

And then I photographed the marriage of our great friends Larry and Erin (i.e. Larin) – full blog post here:

Larin

Then there were many fall little-ones shoots in Cleveland, like for the amazing Lily:

Lily

And December babies, like Anabella:

With the holiday season came photographing E for their New Year‘s card… (don’t you want to ring in the New Year with this scrumptious little barkeep?):

Ethan New Year

During our lovely Floridian winter, Talia and I shot the campaign for her company, Green Apple Accessories:

Talia - Green Apple Accessories

Then in February, there was a snowy trip to Cleveland, filled with lots of fun wintry shoots, like with E’s cousin Nathan (here with his mama Jill):

Nathan and Jill

…and of course some shoots indoors to defrost, like with this awesome crew – Brad, baby Alexander (so many baby boys!), and Christina:

Brad, Alexander, and Christina

There was this super-fun family session… Here are the adoring grandparents Marcia and Richard with three of their lucky grandkids, Cadence, Brian, and Cadence’s little brother JT:

Cadence, Marcia, Brian, Richard, and JT

Then we had an incredible family trip to Israel, visiting family, touring the country, and putting E in fun antique chairs at the Yafo flea market:

E in Yaffo

A few hours after getting off the plane from Israel, my work with the Sarasota Film Festival started – This was the first (and hopefully not the last) year I was a staff photographer. There were a bunch of events that week, including the In Conversation with… series with people such as Patricia Clarkson and Vincent D’Onofrio:

And incredible hooping performance outside the premiere of The Hooping Life:

Hoola Monsters

And more fun stars like Stanley Tucci and Steve Buscemi:

Beautiful Ava was born in the spring…

Also in the spring, my super-smart brother-in-law Jonah received his MD and PhD simultaneously and then became published in JAMA:

Babies I’d met and photographed as newborns (both friends and clients) began walking and having birthdays, like little Sydney:

Syd

There were also some “older” clients during May’s Cleveland trip, like the beautiful 6-year-old McKenzie:

McKenzie

Later in May in Boston, this striking and happy duo, Lucy and Chase, were engaged:

LBP & JCJ

Also in Boston, I photographed the gorgeous bffs, Danielle and Abigail:

Back in FL, this summer started off with a bunch of newborns, like the precious tiny Gia:

And also one really touching 50th anniversary shoot for Ron and Sonia:

Ron and Sonia

To round out the summer of babies and anniversaries and to top off an amazing first year as Ellie P. Campbell Photography, there was Molly and Lou‘s beautiful beach wedding on Islamorada, FL in July:

Molly and Lou

I am so, so grateful for and excited about how this past year has turned out. I’m lucky to have a husband, family, and friends who have encouraged me to go for it as well as to have incredible clients who let me share in so many intimate, special moments and events in their lives and who have made my job fun and inspiring. I am looking forward to what unfolds over the next year! Thank you, everyone!

J’s parents and littlest (although not so little anymore) siblings visited us this past weekend. Though there was the standard summer storm or two (that’s just while we were at the beach), we had a great time. Highlights: Abigail’s new-found-favorite treat – raspberry gelato from Jolly, Matthew’s almost-birdie at the golf course, Monica’s iced espresso with vanilla ice cream, billiards against pool “dolphin” Alex, and the hours of bliss at the Beach Club – in and out of the pool, riding the waves in the ocean, and snacking on really yummy French fries in the shade. In fact, I’d like to rewind and be back there right now (and apply more sunblock).

Here’s my gorgeous sister-in-law enjoying her sugar smoothie (i.e. caramel frappuccino):

And Matthew getting some rest in between dips…

…and some audio from the ocean:

One last shot, taken at Jolly/Epicure after scarfing down delicious gelato… The Campbells don’t go anywhere without their Boston gear. 🙂

I photographed 7-year-old Aidan and his 2-year-old sister Addison last week. Their parents, the editor and projects director of Edible Sarasota magazine, Tracy and John Freeman, are awesome people, so I knew their kids would be fun to photograph. And they were!

They are both budding stars – They will not be taking the backseat in life, that’s for sure. Aidan already belongs on the screen. This boy is so animated, has not a lick of shyness, and already aspires to be either a GAP model or a cast member on the TV show “iCarly.” Not bad for age 7.

Addy is absolutely hilarious. She goes for what she wants and is knowledgeable beyond her years (“Are these pictures going on Facebook?!”). These two adorable kids are going places, and I’m looking forward to seeing where it is they’re going and what they’ll be doing!

Here’s the good-lookin’ foursome:

And lastly, I think this is my favorite shot of the session – maybe one of my favorites ever:

Thanks for suffering through the heat and hunger with me, guys! 🙂
