Almost all of my sessions in Cleveland were of one baby – and sometimes the parents. While I love focusing on one child, with his/her individual personality and intimate relationship with mom and dad, it’s also really fun to photograph siblings/cousins. They are of course so comfortable around each other and are often pretty funny – and sweet.

This session was of three siblings – Sophia (5), Ava (2), and Thomas (3 months). The kids are adorable, and the whole shoot was so much fun – cooperative, super cute kids, a fun, easy-going mom, a beautiful house… what more could I ask for?

There are lots of photos from this shoot that I’m still going through, but here’s a three-image preview.

Seriously, look at these little ones… I am obsessed with the girls’ haircuts. And I want to fold up the couch and take it with me to future photo sessions:

Ava, Sophia, and Tommy

Cassie and her baby boy, Tommy, who has ridiculously long and dark eyelashes:

And the adorable family (minus Dad – hopefully we’ll get him next time!):

More to come – some of just the girls, a few family shots, and portraits of the little munchkin.

I love this little guy. Nathan is E‘s cousin, born exactly one week earlier. I’ve taken a bunch of photos of Nathan, but this was our first official shoot – and just as I’d expected, he was an awesome model. He is a shockingly easy-going, funny baby. After just traveling the night before from across the country and through two time zones, Nathan was still happy, alert, and fun. Ben and Jill are always great and laid back, so the threesome made for a very easy session for me!

I’ll be posting more photos of their session, but here is a preview for now.

Doesn’t this just make you want to squeeze him?

Loving his time in the bucket in the snow:

And if Nathan and E are cute on their own, the two of them together is just too much. Photos of their day together to come.

A few days ago, I photographed Alexander and his parents, Brad and Christina. I’ve had a bunch of 6-month-olds as models here in Cleveland (like Brennan), and it’s really fun to see how different yet similar they all are. Alexander has two super cute teeth and melts my heart with his little voice because it sounds just like E’s.

And Brad and Christina gave me Peruvian shortbread dulce de leche cookies – pretty much the best cookies ever. YUM.

Here’s a little preview of his photo shoot. Christina loves black and whites (and so do I), so that’s what I focused on for their session.

E is 6 months old today at 5:18pm… I took this photo when he was exactly one week old.

E - 1 Week

Wowzer. They sure don’t spend much time being this tiny. Now here he is on his first half-birthday:

E 6 Months

I miss when he was just a little peanut… But he is so cute these days, I can barely stand it.

Some of the things he likes to do at 6 months:

  • Laughing – at “sneezing” (we’ve started to fake sneeze now that we’ve discovered he finds it hilarious), at belly tickles, at our faces in the mirror, and at one of his toys that makes really silly noises (check it out: this thing is amazing)
  • Sitting up like a champ
  • Showing zero interest in crawling
  • Grabbing things, especially non-baby-friendly objects like cell phones and tissue boxes
  • Not being in his car seat
  • Singing – “Eensy, Weensy Spider” and “Pants on the Ground” are fun; J and I instituted the latter into his repertoire
  • Reading – He even flips pages, albeit accidentally (or shuts the book when he decides we’re done)
  • Not being in the snow

Happy 6-month birthday to little E. So happy I get to squish him and kiss him.

Due to the snowy weather the last couple of days, we’ve been hanging and playing at home, just enjoying E and his amazingness. Of course, I had to capture some of his cuteness on camera…

In the left, smiling at his mama; in the right, eyeing his Uncle J:

E has a little cold… and he LOVES tissues:

And one of his new favorite toys is a yogurt container (thanks to his Safta’s idea via Skype):

The little man will be 6 months tomorrow! Crazy…

For my first shoot of this trip to Cleveland, I photographed 7-month-old Brennan on Superbowl Sunday’s gorgeously sunny snowy morning. Here are three preview shots.

A family photo to start it off (Isn’t his outfit amazingly adorable?):

More to come from Brennan’s session later on. A great kickoff (no Superbowl pun intended) to a two-week working visit to Cleveland.

I’ve been envisioning a photo shoot with E in the snow since we planned this February Cleveland trip…

Apparently, E is not a big fan of frigid temps (who is?!) or being photographed in said frigid temps. We tried to take him out for a few snow photos Saturday, but he shrieked the second we stepped out into the ice-cold breeze. Not one frame was snapped. We tried again, and this time, I managed to get a few – albeit of a pretty unhappy model. In most, he looks downright sad, but in a few, he just looks like he has the serious model face down pat.

After about five minutes, we scooped him up in a blanket and hurried inside to the coziness. He was much happier then. 🙂

Here are some:

We are headed to Cleveland today. Off to spend two weeks with this little one…

Super E

…Yep, he’s super, all right. (Wasn’t his handmade Halloween costume sweet?! My sister is ridiculous.)

I’ll be posting from the wintry weather, cozied up with the little man.

So if you saw my blog Thursday, you know that I photographed one-week-old Charles, born to parents Leymis and Kavin. Here’s a bit more about that shoot – with a bunch of photos, of course!

Leymis and I have been in touch for years through work, and I was very happy to get the opportunity to capture the arrival of her little guy. Although he was due at Christmas (I was eagerly awaiting the news, geared up with my camera for the new tiny man), Charles had other plans and decided to join world outside of his mama’s cozy womb on January 12.

I photographed him when he was exactly one week old. He was a tiny peanut (even being three weeks late), but he was alert and wriggly beyond his years (or days)! While I’d envisioned a blissfully sleepy newborn, I got a wide-eyed model who stared me down as if he were saying, “Yep, I know what I’m doing.” But how they keep you on your toes is part of what’s so fun about photographing babies! And anyway, I do love the expressions of an alert newborn, and Charles looks like he has a lot to think about.

Check him out!

Staring out the window:

I love his expression in this one (actually, I love his expression in all of them, but there’s something about this in particular…):

Here is my favorite from our little session. Makes me want to scoop him up every time I look at it.

And we’ll end with a collage of some others:
