This October, Brooklyn & Matt got married on Key West (prompting our first-ever Key West trip after living in Florida for 8 years!) at the Ocean Key Resort & Spa. This duo is so sweet, welcoming, on top of things, and, most importantly, in love, making photographing their wedding weekend a really fun experience – not to mention the spectacular organization and skills of Julie at Simply You Weddings.

They seamlessly and beautifully incorporated the local flavor of Key West – complete with fedoras, a cigar roller, and a menu that included lobster, a ceviche bar, and of course mojitos – and their own imported touches – like hundreds of handmade paper cranes flown in from Chicago, imported wine and champagne specifically selected by Matt (a sommelier), and their quilted chuppah made by family and friends. Throw in an impromptu party crash by Darth Vader (see sneak peek post), and you’ve got a pretty awesome wedding. 🙂

Now that the holiday rush is over, I’m ending the year with a couple of belated wedding posts from the fall. Janet & Brian were married on a mild October day in gorgeous Cohasset, MA. After spending a really fun day with them in NYC this summer for their engagement shoot, it was so great to finally be shooting their wedding!

Kate and Mike had a beautiful wedding on one of the most spectacular days of New England’s early fall at the gorgeous Singing Beach in Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA. Not only was the setting picture-perfect, but the love between Kate and Mike is palpable. Since they’ve been like extended family to me since I was a teenager, I’ve known Kate and her family for a very long time – and she has a new glow that emanates from her when she is around (or talks about) Mike. They are such a great team and so in love, making them a really fun duo to photograph. Add the beauty of the Singing Beach Club and the energy of their family and friends, and we’ve got one great wedding. 🙂

Nicole and Brett had a beautiful wedding in Chatham on Cape Cod late this summer. Although Hurricane Irene threatened to turn their waterfront wedding day into a big mess, the weather was miraculously calm. Save for a few missing guests who couldn’t travel due to the conditions, the day went on without a hitch, and everyone had a blast celebrating Nicole and Brett’s marriage at one of the most gorgeous spots on the Cape.

Yay, Kate and Mike are married!! Kate is like my family, and Mike is such a perfect match and partner for her. They light each other up! I was honored to be asked to photograph their wedding amongst people I love in such a stunning setting on a spectacular, sunny, 70-degree day at Singing Beach in Manchester-by-the-Sea.

Emily and Matt got married in June on Longboat Key. Although they’re a young duo, Emily was such an organized bride – prepared, calm, focused, and the two of them are visibly so in love.

This is a collection of some of my favorites from Emily and Matt’s first look, ceremony, and portraits (with a beautiful near-sunset sky before the rain started dumping):

Misty and Dusty were married Friday evening on Lido, and although the ceremony had to be indoors due to the crazy, hurricane-like weather, we got to spend some time outside and on the beach yesterday morning for a sunrise “trash-the-dress” shoot all around Siesta. The newlyweds are from Illinois, but Misty spent many vacations in Sarasota growing up and, since meeting Dusty, has made it a special place for him, too.

Misty is no doubt absolutely stunning and thus a ridiculously gorgeous bride, but she is also so much fun – and she and Dusty were amazing sports for yesterday’s shoot. Not sure I’ve met many brides who would dive into the ocean (and then a pool) in their wedding dresses – and let me photograph them doing it! Dusty jumped right in with her – and made her laugh all the while, which seems like a regular occurrence in their relationship (him making her laugh, not the diving into water in wedding attire).

Congratulations, Misty and Dusty!
