Almost exactly a month ago, I posted some photos of Giovanna, Peppe, and Eleonora, who were expecting a new addition to the family in late November. Well, Veronica was born Tuesday, November 21, and I had the absolute pleasure of capturing her at five days old. One of the most beautiful little creatures I’ve ever laid eyes on, here she is:

And the two gorgeous sisters:

And lastly, Eleonora’s last photo got so many responses, I had to post another one of her. Can you even stand how beautiful she is?

Eleonora

Thank you, Giovanna and Peppe, for inviting me and J to celebrate this amazing time in your family (and preparing one of the best meals either of us has ever eaten!).  🙂 Congratulations on your incredible baby girl!

We met Peppe when we moved here and discovered Cafe Epicure (he makes the best pizza), and I met his wife and baby girl Eleonora at the restaurant a couple of years ago (wow, what a gorgeous family). Now they’re expecting their second little bambina at Thanksgiving, and I finally got them in front of the camera for some maternity photos.

I can’t even stand the beauty.

Stunning ladies…

I haven’t seen these little guys since Julian’s baby session, when he was 7 weeks old (and big brother Phinn was 19 months). Now they are 16 months and almost 3… and just as cute (if not cuter). Julian is such a big boy now – with that amazing little clip in his hair from his baptism in Greece this summer. And Phinn has so much to do and say, “facetious” probably being my favorite word of his. 🙂 He is hysterical and animated – and they are both just so, so handsome.

Right?

And their monkeys were never far away…

This weekend, little Lyla visited us from Orlando (along with her parents and grandparents), and she and E played pre-Halloween dress-up.

Here’s Snow White – Could they have picked a better costume for her?!

Bride-to-be Kali first got in touch with me in the spring after her fiance Josh proposed, so this engagement shoot has been long awaited (at least by me and Kali!). It was so great to finally meet these two (and their three gorgeous – and large – puppies; check them out here) and roam around the bayfront with them…  They caught a lot of stares! I sadly won’t get to witness Kali & Josh become husband and wife (they’re getting married in Vegas in the spring), but I loved photographing them!

Isn’t this a great wedding kiss??

And the good-lookin’ duo checking out the sunset (and each other):

And lastly, two of my absolute favorites of the shoot…

Thanks to Kali and Josh for a fun shoot! Can’t wait to see photos from the wedding!

It’s the seasons of baby bellies – and soon-to-be newborns – and I love it! This family in particular really brought me back to what we were feeling last summer when little E was soon to be born – first grandchild, two sisters, so much excitement. 🙂

Bri’s due to have her baby girl early December, and I can’t wait to meet the little one. She will be one very loved princess – and beautiful, if she’s anything like her family!

The family invited me out east to their sprawling property, where Bri’s sister Randi got married about a year ago. The light was perfectly soft, the weather has finally cooled down (some), and it was so peaceful (minus the 18 mosquito bites I’m scratching as I type – so worth it!).

Here are the gorgeous expecting parents, Anthony and Bri:

One more shot… just look at these models!

Thank you for having me to your beautiful piece of paradise, Bri and family! See you (plus one!) in December. 🙂

This past Saturday, I photographed a dress rehearsal for “Sprout,” a three-piece Butoh dance performance choreographed by Keren Shani-Lifrak as part of the Ringling International Arts Festival’s Family Funfest.

Here’s some of what Keren says about “Sprout”: “My exploration with the ‘Sprout’ series is about expressing current social, political issues about the world we live in as well as personal circumstances. The work is abstract. It maintains the aesthetics of Butoh and leaves the experience to the audience’s direct interpretation without ‘sweetening’ or mediation. The intention is to allow us to witness and embrace our imperfections but also celebrate our core, our purity of heart and our ability to emerge from dark moments… All of this through stillness, controlled, contorted and isolated movement.”

And as for the dance style… Butoh is a contemporary dance form which originated in Japan in the late 1950s. Butoh typically involves grotesque or playful imagery, taboo topics and extreme or absurd environments. It is traditionally “performed” in white-body makeup with slow, hyper-controlled, often distorted movement.

Now for some imagery…

A couple of group stills (choreographer Keren is the one sporting that amazing baby bump, top right):

Don’t they just belong in this setting?

I photographed the little munchkin Anabella when she was just 2.5 weeks old. Last week, I got to capture the whole family – now-8-month-old Anabella, her 3-year-old brother Dylan, and parents Andrea and Monica.

They did a great job even through the oppressive heat (I really can’t wait for fall…). Don’t they look great?!

Dylan, Andrea, Monica, and Anabella

I love that Dylan is helping Anabella here. He was making sure she didn’t put the shells in her mouth… so sweet!

And here is the crew again catching a little breeze on the dock (love Monica’s photo idea!):

Ellie P. Campbell Photography 2009-2010It’s my one-year anniversary as Ellie P. Campbell Photography. 🙂

(Well, yesterday was, but I didn’t have time to post about it.) Although I did photography well before August 2009, this is celebrating one official year on my own. As with most things all-consuming yet wonderful, it feels like this past year has flown by but also as if I’ve been doing this for years and years. I absolutely love what I do and am very happy to be where I am.

Here’s a very long photo-year-in-review…

A shot from my first official shoot on August 1, 2009 of beautiful Eva and her gorgeous little guy Julian:

Julian and Eva

Followed by E’s birth just a couple of weeks later (and thus began my camera’s love affair with my very edible nephew):

Newborn E

And then I photographed the marriage of our great friends Larry and Erin (i.e. Larin) – full blog post here:

Larin

Then there were many fall little-ones shoots in Cleveland, like for the amazing Lily:

Lily

And December babies, like Anabella:

Anabella

With the holiday season came photographing E for their New Year‘s card… (don’t you want to ring in the New Year with this scrumptious little barkeep?):

Ethan New Year

During our lovely Floridian winter, Talia and I shot the campaign for her company, Green Apple Accessories:

Talia - Green Apple Accessories

Then in February, there was a snowy trip to Cleveland, filled with lots of fun wintry shoots, like with E’s cousin Nathan (here with his mama Jill):

Nathan and Jill

…and of course some shoots indoors to defrost, like with this awesome crew – Brad, baby Alexander (so many baby boys!), and Christina:

Brad, Alexander, and Christina

There was this super-fun family session… Here are the adoring grandparents Marcia and Richard with three of their lucky grandkids, Cadence, Brian, and Cadence’s little brother JT:

Cadence, Marcia, Brian, Richard, and JT

Then we had an incredible family trip to Israel, visiting family, touring the country, and putting E in fun antique chairs at the Yafo flea market:

E in Yaffo

A few hours after getting off the plane from Israel, my work with the Sarasota Film Festival started – This was the first (and hopefully not the last) year I was a staff photographer. There were a bunch of events that week, including the In Conversation with… series with people such as Patricia Clarkson and Vincent D’Onofrio:

Vincent D'Onofrio

And incredible hooping performance outside the premiere of The Hooping Life:

Hoola Monsters

And more fun stars like Stanley Tucci and Steve Buscemi:

Beautiful Ava was born in the spring…

Ava and Holli

Also in the spring, my super-smart brother-in-law Jonah received his MD and PhD simultaneously and then became published in JAMA:

Jonah

Babies I’d met and photographed as newborns (both friends and clients) began walking and having birthdays, like little Sydney:

Syd

There were also some “older” clients during May’s Cleveland trip, like the beautiful 6-year-old McKenzie:

McKenzie

Later in May in Boston, this striking and happy duo, Lucy and Chase, were engaged:

LBP & JCJ

Also in Boston, I photographed the gorgeous bffs, Danielle and Abigail:

Danielle and Abigail

Back in FL, this summer started off with a bunch of newborns, like the precious tiny Gia:

Gia

And also one really touching 50th anniversary shoot for Ron and Sonia:

Ron and Sonia

To round out the summer of babies and anniversaries and to top off an amazing first year as Ellie P. Campbell Photography, there was Molly and Lou‘s beautiful beach wedding on Islamorada, FL in July:

Molly and Lou

I am so, so grateful for and excited about how this past year has turned out. I’m lucky to have a husband, family, and friends who have encouraged me to go for it as well as to have incredible clients who let me share in so many intimate, special moments and events in their lives and who have made my job fun and inspiring. I am looking forward to what unfolds over the next year! Thank you, everyone!
